As the Student Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, our mission is to uphold the principles outlined by the ASLA: "to lead, educate, and participate in the careful stewardship, wise planning, and artful design of our cultural and natural environments." The organization's mission is carried out by: - Educating students about the profession of Landscape Architecture - Providing opportunities to interact with professionals in the DC area and beyond - Fostering a sense of community among students with interests in Landscape Architecture - Establishing UMD as a recognized and respected source of professionals working as Landscape Architects
